When I'm not working on a number of my own projects, or battling the forces of evil and flame with my water powers, I'm watching and reviewing flash, go figure.

Sith Stories 1

"E for Effort."

submission: Sith Stories 1
date: April 8, 2009

I understand what you were going for. But there is MAJOR issues with the game that need correcting. Simply due to the endless fall glitch I managed to see the giant monster in the desert, the emperor giving you instructions, and the 2nd or 3rd stage!
However it all needs to be pulled together. Probably could be cool in the end. But right now it's at step .001. Keep at it.

[KK]Super Smash.Bros Bawl

"Eh."

date: December 8, 2008

Pretty mediocre overall, but it did have some positive points.
I found the (VOTE)five yearold voice acting a very nice touch, keeping true to famous japanese cartoon format, where even your animal noises are made by kid voice actors!
And the "yo-mamma" joke was pretty solid- and the Michael Jackson cameo was gold.

Constructively, I'd say create more realistic mouth movements.

Spot The Green Dot

"Interesting"

submission: Spot The Green Dot
date: December 3, 2008

Not bad as far as simple "find the whatevers" go. The music was cool, and the pictures were very well done. Finding the green dot was not very challenging. Definitely a nice showcase for a cool tune and artwork though!

Visual Enjoyment 1

"Interesting"

submission: Visual Enjoyment 1
date: December 3, 2008

Not bad. Pretty basic, yet fun. Some music would definitely help. It might be nice to include a simple guide, even a column beside the input fields that gives the minimum and maximum range parameters of each field.

Author's Response:

Cheers, added a small guide in the comments for each parameter.

Squario

"LOL funny"

submission: Squario
date: December 2, 2008

It was an enjoyable experience. I found it hilarious.
As a "Mario" based platform, it is a pass. The "10second" music loops were suited to the game, and the sound effects were comical.
Control was nothing short of what I'd expect from the NES/SNES era.
Definitely not a game to obsess over, but a fun way to waste 20minutes. :)

Sock Episode 3

"That was quite the dream."

submission: Sock Episode 3
date: October 3, 2005

I really enjoyed that flash! That was very kind of you to share that dream with all the viewers and I don't think it could have worked any way other than the flash medium.
Your presentation was amazing as usual. I love the art, and your style is brilliant, it just fits so fantastically well.
Those dog puppet heads are queer beasties. They reminded me of the Canadians; Terrance and Phillip from South Park, yet had the demented appearance of some dog puppet I use to see on tv as a kid...I laughed.
The other character I enjoyed was the man killing the children. When he spoke and talked like a child I thought that was well done.
I also like how you called that a dream where I think most people would call something of that quality a nightmare! Of course if anyone follows your work...
I'd throw that into the realm of dream for myself.
I wonder from what bits of life that dream was pieced together with?
I look forward to your next production!

"That made me laugh out loud."

submission: STFUBomb
date: September 23, 2005

That was excellent! Exactly what you said it would be.
The animation was smooth, the art simple, the sound fit, the thought brilliant! It transitioned well, I am sorry to hear about the error but I am glad you finished!
The Ring parody and Mr.Zhu teaching Sticksville High was very happy to my eyes.
Great job!

Dunny Kan Shivers

"For a first attempt that was awesome."

submission: Dunny Kan Shivers
date: September 23, 2005

I think that was an excellent job!
You probably scored well for your project. I really liked the feel, it was put together well: the sound was just what it needed to be and your animation was smooth. I'd say it falls into a short and sweet category, however you definitely left room to expand that into a longer story!
Keep up the good work I'd be happy to watch more of your work.

Gorillaz FCOOTMH

"I do enjoy that song!!!"

submission: Gorillaz FCOOTMH
date: September 23, 2005

Well it was not bad. Your music was an excellent choice and I think your "Music Flash" for it was not bad. I noticed a few errors in the animation, but over al it was okay. Very colorful, it reminded me of a 70's style cartoon for some reason, one of those funny indy type ones that has choppy animation but because of the style it's cool in it's own right.
With polished animation and perhaps some practiced drawing skill, it could be a far superior flash!
Keep at it.

Author's Response:

Thanks! Towards the end of the movie, I had to change PC's and for some reason the smoothning tool and straighten tool dont work on this one...

Square Kill

"For some reason I really liked that!"

submission: Square Kill
date: September 22, 2005

It reminded me of one of my favorite flash artists, perhaps he influenced your style, hmmm? The drawing style anyway. I think Cube Kill would have been a better name.
It was gory, those were some rather violent cube people!
A little track would have gone along nicely with it, I don't have a suggestion for a background theme, it will come to me.
Your flash was smoothly animated. Simple in design yet smooth.
Altohugh it was short, I feel it went on for the right amount of time.
I was interested and it was new to me.

Splendid job for a "first serious attempt."
